Garlic Italian Loiacono

A rich flavored Italian garlic brought to the United States from by the Loiacono family in 1912. Smaller number of cloves but bigger and squarer in size than the typical softneck. This variety is very adaptable and grows in a variety of climates. Harvest fall planted garlic the following season late spring or early summer about 240 days from planting. Harvest spring planted garlic the same season about 90 days from planting. Italian Loiacono maintains a higher quality in post-harvest storage than most hardneck varieties storing well for up to 9 months. Averages 11 cloves per bulb. Softneck variety....
